Irisches Schwimmteam sammelt Siege
Beim Grand Prix Meet in Bordeaux konnte das irische HPC-UL Team, das komplett in blueseventy schwimmt, zahlreiche Siege erringen. Hier der Bericht des Teamleiters:
Hi Everyone,
here’s a little update on the Grand Prix Meet in Bordeaux that the HPC-UL team competed at this weekend. In a strong field of Olympic medallists and European Champions and record holders our team did a fantastic job.
Grainne Murphy won the 400m Individual Medley in a new Competition Record and new Irish Junior Record in 4.48.65. Her time was also below the qualifying time for World Championships in Rome this July but has to
be swum again later on the year.
Less than an hour later she broke another Irish Junior Record in the 800m freestyle in 8.51.31 and finished 3^rd . On Saturday Grainne knocked off 43 seconds off the 1500m freestyle Irish Senior Record and finished 3^rd in a time of 16.44.07, also below the qualifying time for World Championships but again has to be swum once more later on the
year. In that very same final, Camelia Potec form Romania just missed out the European record in the event in 15.57.89.
Niamh O’Sullivan finished 3^rd in the 200m freestyle in 2.03.15 and in the 400m freestyle in 4.17.19. Both times were sub- World Championships qualifying times but too early to be valid.
Tara Dunne medalled in the Backstroke: 100m (1.05.74 — 3^rd ) & 200m (2.19.45 — 2^nd by beating the European Champion from 2006, who didn’t perform too well but it was a great experience for her).
Leo Delaney did personal best times in 200m (2.11.17) & 400m (4.35.99) Individual Medley.
Chris Bryan did personal best times in 1500m free, 400m free and 200m free.
Patrick Kennedy did a 100m Butterfly personal best and swam 3 finals (50 back — 100 fly — 100 back)
